The misalignment in technical knowledge grows more acute each day- only 5% of boards have a formal "digital director" identified. Boards are potentially not moving at a digital pace, thus potentially missing critical guidance & feedback for disruptive offense and defensive plays. Experienced CTOs and CIOs have the expertise, but often do not want to take on Board responsibilities given all the other fiduciary, administrative and regulatory tasks associated with a Board role. Thus an immediate and critical talent gap - at the top.

Come hear an all-star panel of interviewers and panelists take on some of the predictable, unpredictable, and delicate nuances peculiar to companies not in the public space. How much Governance do you (really) want to put in there? Are you willing to pay for the higher standard of SOX compliance? Why are family and private companies intimidated by private equity? How does the Next Gen deal with the transient role of the Founder? What does Private Equity look out for when buying a family business? These topics, plus questions from the audience.

Directors Oversight of Disruptive Risks (Cyber, Crypto, and Disruptive Economies) All organizations are facing business model disruption, and directors play an important role in understanding the nature, pace, and impacts of disruptive risks, including rapid innovations in technology (e.g., robotics, digitalization), new forms of supply chains (e.g., Amazon), or even fundamental changes in the way business is conducted (e.g., blockchain, crypto currencies). While disruption can add to risks such as cyber security, it also presents organizations with significant opportunity to maintain or add to shareholder value. NACD Florida, Protiviti, and Akerman are pleased to present a high-impact discussion to help directors identify and govern the ways their organizations deal with disruptive risks. Join experts in innovative strategies, public policy, and cyber as they provide perspective on ways directors can help take advantage of opportunities in emerging areas of digitalization, supply chain/blockchain, and cyber risk management and how these fast-paced risks can be managed along the way. Please join us and an impressive panel of experts at the spectacular Pavilion at Steinbrenner Field for this event. A catered reception will follow the program.
